What`s new in ICS Android 4.0 for Galaxy S2 I9100 : I9100XXLPQ Chnagelog

In last 3-4 months we have witnessed different leaked ICS firmwares and obviously most of us were having curiosity to try them out. Now since official Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich is out, question comes what`s new. Apart from having a new operating system version, every end user needs some new functionality and option to get convinced for a firmware upgrade. Since Samsung never release a changelog, we have tried to compile a list of changes you will notice in new ICS firmware for Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100.

  • Obviously a new Operating system version Android 4.0.3 Ice cream Sandwich
  • A totally new interface experience
  • Samsung account login added to notification panel
  • Grid Format of sub menus changed to list view
  • Many buttons( like “Add”, “Cancel”) are now moved from bottom of screen to the top)
  • Restart option is added when you press power button for a few seconds
  • FaceLock function added
  • New GTalk with video and GMail added (both with multi login)
  • Text selecting options are moved to the top of screen
  • Thumbnail view added in Favorites contacts
  • “Unknown sources” option is moved from Applications to Security
  • Wifi and mobile Data Usage option added with variety of options
  • Screen capture Key combination changed -Press and hold Volume Down + Power
Bad things
  • No inbuilt Flash support in browser. You have to download from Play Shop
  • Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed function is gone -- Bluetooth 3.0 is supported
