How to increase speaker volume on Sony Xperia Z

Sony Xperia Z is an admirable phone. Though it’s lacking one of the main features for which company Sony is known for- its sound quality. Phone offers quite a lot of good features. But its users have been disappointed from the low volume of external speaker. Read on for details.

** You need Custom Recovery/Rooted phone for this procedure ** 

XDA developer ZeroInfinity has managed to solve this problem to some extent. He has managed it through Extra Volume Boost mod which accesses internal and external volume of the phone. It is available for stock Sony ROM and any AOSP based ROM.

We have mentioned the installation steps below:

1. Download relevant zip file from the below mentioned links:

2. Make sure you have a working custom recovery.
3. Create a Nandroid backup (to be on the safe side).
4. Download appropriate zip file and copy it in memory card.
5. Go to recovery mode.
6. Clear ‘Wipe Cache Partition’.
7. Delete dalvik cache in advanced settings.
8. Now select ‘install zip from SD card’.
9. Choose the zip file through ‘select zip from SD card’.
10. Reboot the phone.

Zip files are also available for those who would like to revert the effects. It’s requested that since speakers are not meant for such high volume, so playing in high volume for long time may incur some damage on speakers. Please share your experience with us.
