How to configure AT&T 3G/4G on Unlocked Phones

Most of the US carriers provide the co-branded phones on reduced rates with contract prices. When you sign a contract you need to pay high on your monthly bills for add on data plans. Because of this reason lot of people choose to use their own phones (unlocked/different carrier or forign phone). You need to enter manual settings to configure AT&T 3G/4G on unlocked phone. Read on for more details.



I am writing this based on general settings flow on a smart phone -

Goto Settings >> Mobile Networks >> Access point Names
Click on Add Access point And add exactly below


Name   :  ATT Phone
APN   :  phone
Proxy :  Not set
Port :  Not set
Username :  Not set
Password :  Not set
Server   :  Not set
MMSC   :  http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
Multimedia message proxy :  proxy.mobile.att.net
Multimedia message port  :  80
MCC :  310
MNC :  410
Authentication type :  None
APN Type :  default,mms,supl,hipri,fota
APN Protocol :  IPv4
Turn APN on/off :  Check on
Bearer :  Unspecified
Mobile virtual network operator type  : None
Mobile virtual network operator value : None

( IF YOU DON`T HAVE PARTICULAR SETTING ON YOUR PHONE JUST IGNORE IT )

Save this access point and activate it. 

Now restart your phone. That`s it. Your 3G/4G should be working now.
