How to Factory/hard Reset Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900

Sometimes phones behave strange, Apps gets crashed phone restarts and all different software related issue. Sometime phone even doesn`t boot up properly. In these situtation Factory Reset or Hard Reset is an ultimate solution. Let`s see how to do that on Samsung Galaxy S5.

Please take a backup if possible before you perform the reset. This will wipe out all data on your phone memory. (Memory Card data will not be affected)




Method 1 - Using Factory RESET option in settings.

This method is useful if your phone is in working condition and you want to do a Factory Reset.

GO To Settings >> User And Backup >> Backup and reset >> Factory Data Reset



Method 2 - Using Android Recovery Mode
  • Switch off your phone.
  • Press VOL up + Home Button + Power Key at the same time. You will see recovery booting on the left top in blue color.
  • Now use your Vol keys to move up and down and power key to select.
  • Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset >> Select Yes
  • Select Wipe cache Partition
  • Reboot System now.


Hard reset/Factory reset generally resolved all software related bugs in the phone and very useful. But keep your data always backed up to avoid any data loss.
