Everybody is waiting for official ICS firmware for Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100. We have got some of alpha and beta leaked ICS firmware from Sammobile which proves that Samsung is really working hard on Android Ice Cream Sandwich version. But Samsung is not alone in that, our developer community also trying on ICS builds. Well today we will discuss about one more famous custom ROM i.e. MIUI ROM based on ICS CM9. Follow the instructions properly with Video guide to help you in installing the MIUI ROM on Galaxy S2.
Main Features of MIUI v4 Android ICS Fresh v2.1
- Based off MIUI Android v2.1.20 (Thanks MIUI and MIUI Android) and CyanogenMod 9 Alpha 01172012 build (Thanks Team Hacksung and CyanogenMod)
- Very stable
- Camera from CyanogenMod - Supports 8MP Face lock and GTalk works No Touchwiz :)
Prerequisites
- A Rooted Device with CWM installed on it. We have used I9100XXKI3 ROM in video.
- Charge your battery to a good level
- Backup all your Data
- Download Latest edition of ROM (DRUNKEN CLAM EDITION) from XDA forum
- Download gapps_ics_4.0.3_v10.zip (Just google it)
- Download update_v1.zip (Just google it)
Procedure to Install MIUI v4 ROM on Galaxy S2
- Make a complete Backup of all your Data
- Do a full factory Reset
- Copy AdyScorpiusMIUIv2.1-ICS-i9100-2.1.20.zip, gapps_ics_4.0.3_v10.zip & update_v1.zip to your internal SD card
- Completely Switch off your phone
- Restart the phone in CWM recovery mode by pressing Vol UP + Home + Power button (press till Samsung logo comes)
- Scroll to Wipe Data/Factory Reset >>> Yes
- Scroll to Wipe cache partition >> Yes
- Scroll to Advanced >> Wipe Delvik Cache >> Yes
- Go back to main menu and scoll to mount and Storage menu >>> format /system
- Go back to main menu and scoll to install Zip from SD card >> Choose Zip from SD Card >> scroll to AdyScorpiusMIUIv2.1-ICS-i9100-2.1.20.zip click ok by home button, wait till install is complete
- Now again Choose Zip from SD Card >> scroll to gapps_ics_4.0.3_v10.zip click ok by home button
- Now again Choose Zip from SD Card >> scroll to update_v1.zip >> click ok by home button [I HAVE NOT USED THIS ON VIDEO]
- Wait till installation complete and now go back to main menu and then click on Reboot system now
- First boot may take upto 2-3 minutes. Please refer video for exact demonstration and on screen functions.
That`s all now you will have MIUI ICS on your phone.

You have mentioned that there is "No Touchwiz" in the Main features....could you please let me know what features on the phone are unavailable due to this?
ReplyDeleteno touch wiz means it will not have samsung specific features like swipr to call, swipe notification bar for brightness control, motion controls etc.

I9100XXKI3 is ginger bread and perfectly for daily use.
DeleteWhen compare to XXKP8, XXKPA & XXLP2 this ROM is much better.. those were leaked beta firmware this one is custom firmware

memory card issue is knows... Developer has release one patch to solve this but file got curropt .. I will update as soon as i get an update .. Dont worry.. You can still play or use your SD card content using MX player
